The strategy development process, which commenced in April 2025, involves extensive consultation with young people, service providers, schools and the broader community. The Youth Strategy would establish a clear vision and action plan to address the needs, aspirations and challenges of young people in the Glen Innes Severn region.
The consultation phase includes a diverse range of engagement activities to capture the voices of young people from all backgrounds and circumstances:
Youth engagement sessions facilitated at The Youth Booth.
An online survey for young people and the broader community
School-based surveys
One-on-one interviews with youth service providers
Targeted consultation with diverse youth groups including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, culturally and linguistically diverse youth, LGBTQIA+ young people and young people with disabilities
The strategy development will also include analysis of demographic data, mapping of existing services, and consideration of current research and policy contexts to ensure the final strategy is evidence-based and forward-looking.
Young people and community members are encouraged to get involved in the consultation process by:
Completing one of the online surveys. Please note: Youth Survey is for ages 12-24 years.
