At the December 2024 Ordinary Council meeting, Council acknowledged its advocacy role regarding public transport in the region. As part of this commitment, Council encourages community members to provide input into the development of the New England and North West Strategic Regional Integrated Transport Plan and the Proposed Changes to TrainLink Coaches in the North West Region.

Have Your Say on the New England and North West Strategic Regional Integrated Transport Plan

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is working towards developing a transport system that meets the unique needs of the New England and North West. The Strategic Regional Integrated Transport Plans (SRITP) for this area are set to be delivered in early 2026. These plans aim to capture the distinct characteristics of the region and ensure that transport infrastructure supports the diverse needs of all residents.

Before the plans are drafted, TfNSW invites you to share your thoughts on the transport services and infrastructure across the New England and North West region. Whether it’s about your daily journey or the transport services you depend on, they want to hear from you.

You can upload a submission or explore the interactive map of the New England and North West, where you can drop a pin to highlight any specific concerns, insights, or feedback.

Stay Informed and Get Involved

In the meantime, TfNSW encourages you to stay informed and get involved. If you're interested in being part of the conversation, please email engage.sritps@transport.nsw.gov.au, and TfNSW will provide details on engagement opportunities and how you can contribute to the SRITP.

Have Your Say on the Proposed Changes to TrainLink Coaches in the North West Region

As part of this commitment, Council is promoting the opportunity for community members to provide feedback on proposed changes to NSW TrainLink coach services in the North West region.

NSW TrainLink’s proposed changes, based on passenger feedback, aim to better connect communities with more convenient routes, new stops, and improved travel times. These changes are expected to take effect in 2026. Council would like to encourage community members to have their say on these proposed changes via the Transport for NSW “Have Your Say” portal. You can view more detailed information about each route and provide your feedback online.

Feedback can also be submitted via email to engage.sritps@transport.nsw.gov.au. Be sure to have your say to help shape the future of public transport in the New England and North West region.
