Expression of Interest - Lease, Licence, Sale and/or Re-development of 146 and/or 148 Church Street, Glen Innes
Exciting Redevelopment Opportunity in Glen Innes!
Summary
Council is excited to offer an exceptional redevelopment opportunity on one of our prime properties and is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from appropriately qualified and experienced respondents for the provision of lease, licence, sale and/or re-development of 146 and/or 148 Church Street, Glen Innes.
Council is wishing to partner with a proponent who recognises not only the commercial potential of this unique site but who can do it in a way which leverages off the heritage elements of the building and reflects the pivotal role the building played in the history of Glen Innes. Council is prepared to consider proposals which turn the site into a commercial/tourism/heritage drawcard and results in the development offering something unique in the New England region.
146 Church Street, Glen Innes
Situated on a 500m² lot, 146 Church Street was purchased by Council in October 2023. The property includes 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and 1 car space. Minor renovations to this commercial zoned building are currently underway. Council is open to proposals that explore a ‘highest and best use’ for the site, either as a standalone project or combined with neighbouring 148 Church Street.
148 Church Street, Glen Innes
Formerly a Powerhouse and works depot, 148 Church Street spans 3,048m² and was purchased by Council in September 2022. This acquisition aims to preserve the heritage-listed components of the former Glen Innes Power Station while opening up commercial opportunities to support regional economic growth. The property offers multiple spaces that can be sold or leased, either as a whole or in individual sections.
